Job Description:

The individual will be responsible to lead and manage financial results and performance optimization, which includes ownership of Paid Shopping campaigns, Shopping/PLA campaigns, feeds and related budgets. This role requires deep, hands-on experience managing complex and sophisticated campaigns for retail or e-commerce brands. The primary responsibilities in this role are to be the go-to Search expert, successfully leading the day-to-day of the Paid Search channel and team, in order to drive improved results and competitive advantage. Further responsibilities include:



  • Manage the execution of Paid Search campaigns across multiple engines and ensure program specific ROI goals are being met, including customer acquisition and retention goals.

  • Responsible for overseeing our Product Listing Ads (PLA) / Google Shopping and Dynamic Search Ads (DSA) campaigns and our optimization process.

  • Create, implement, track, analyzes optimize, and report on paid search and shopping campaigns in Google AdWords, DoubleClick Search, Bing, and any other relevant search engines

  • Possess strategic and executional knowledge of shopping campaign management on Google through Product Listing Ads (PLAs) and Bing Shopping campaigns from product feed analysis and set up to product feed campaign optimizations and QA

  • Successfully utilize all available tools for paid search and PLA management to meet and exceed campaign and business objectives for the assigned account(s).

  • Accountable for all facets of hands-on, day-to-day campaign activities, such as bid management, feed management, performance monitoring, campaign expansion, account restructures and segmentation, search query research/sculpting, ad copy writing and testing, custom labels, etc.

  • Manage budget and daily process to track, to ensure spending levels are on pace, and make shifts according to results, to chase demand and high ROAS.

  • Create precise forecasts and scenario models of spending and demand plans based on expected return from marketplace conditions, trends, promotions and other variables. Plans must be created annually, seasonally, monthly, weekly and daily, and adjusted as needed.

  • Create and maintain reporting of various attributes and KPIs, gather insight from direct and indirect data and identify/execute next steps accordingly.

  • Demonstrate thought leadership and professional communication skills by developing polished deliverables, such as presentations, Point of Views, business cases, and performance reports.

  • Develop a strategic roadmap of optimization, test plans, and risk/benefit analysis; as well as analyzing results and developing actionable insights.

  • Oversee processes for campaign maintenance and optimization, to ensure efficient and standardized procedures are in place; Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Manage internal relationships with buying/merchandising teams and cross-functional partners, as well as external relationships with agencies, vendors and search engines.

  • Responsible for fostering teamwork and driving motivation of team members and vendor partners.

  • Responsible for onboarding of new hires, and for ensuring growth of team members in the areas of Search capabilities, problem solving, innovation, and business communications.

  • Promote a positive, collaborative culture, where continuous improvement is top of mind, creativity is exemplified, and self-initiative is rewarded, to grow individual team members and achieve fiscal goals for the organization.

  • Reports to the Operating Vice President, SEM, Affiliate Business Development.

  • Strong understanding of SEO and keyword research. Ability to analyze and forecast trends and identify target audiences.


Experience & Knowledge: 



  • Proven ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrate ability to leverage analytics and work with complex datasets to understand performance, optimize campaigns, drive decisions, and measure outcomes

  • Comfort with marketing analytics as it relates to marginal investment

  • Previous experience managing direct reports
